ACTING THE SONG

Musical Theatre Department

EMILIA TORELLO

Founder & Executive Artistic Director

This class is the essential laboratory for the musical theatre actor, focusing on the synthesis of vocal technique, lyrical intent, and musical nuance. Each session is dedicated to translating the text and score into a cohesive, moment-to-moment narrative that the audience can immediately grasp and connect with. Through rigorous analysis of structure, thematic intention, and character objective, students will learn how to communicate the full story, ensuring every gesture and vocal choice serves the dramatic arc. With different repertoire themes explored monthly and professional accompanist support provided weekly, this class conditions the performer to make spontaneous, intelligent, and impactful choices in every song.
